macro monday

What a year the last 5 weeks has been! If you look back to Feb 10th on our SPY sector trend below, a fairly solid bull / bear ratio was still in tact in the majority of SPY sectors. Fast forward to today, wrapping up Q1 2020, we have 1/11 of sectors with a positive bull/bear ratio and only 2/11 with at least one bullish or very bullish name. Wow. Despite the rallies of last week, todays opening SPY bull / bear ratio did not reflect any fundamental improvements, as a matter of fact, Fri - Mon worsened in that respect.

We track weekly relative strength vs the SPY on a 6 month look-back, Bonds,, gold and currencies seem to be the place to find relative outperformance as of late.
